Counselling in Luton, Hitchin and online

"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become"

(Carl Jung)

Welcome and thank you for visiting. My name is Sarah and I offer face to face counselling in Luton, Hitchin and online.

Therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

I am a qualified, registered and insured counsellor with 25 years experience of supporting people with their mental health and other issues.

Counselling can help you to explore and manage any areas of your life that you are finding difficult. I am experienced and qualified to help with a range of different issues including anxiety, depression, Autism and ADHD, relationship difficulties and trauma.

I have personal and professional experience of Autism and ADHD. I am passionate about providing counselling to parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities. I am experienced in supporting parents with issues related to parenting, self-esteem and confidence as well as other areas of parenting.

Therapy is for everyone. My own personal experience of having counselling was life changing and this is one of the reasons I wanted to become a counsellor. I can provide you with a supportive, non judgemental and confidential space to talk, process, heal and grow.

I provide therapy for adults and young people over 15 years in Luton, Hitchin and online. I offer a free 15 minute consultation where we can have a chat and you can ask questions to see if I am the right counsellor for you.

I currently work part time for the mental health charity Mind, supporting adults with mental health difficulties. I have worked in various support roles for over 25 years. This includes working for the local authority, in a women's refuge, alcohol services and within schools.

As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.

Starting therapy

Are you feeling anxious? Finding life overwhelming? Suffering with low mood? I can help. Sometimes life gets a bit too much, maybe something happened, either recently or in the past and this is affecting how you feel now. Perhaps you are unsure about why you feel the way you do and you would like to explore this with a qualified counsellor who is trained to listen.

A problem shared

I can provide you with a safe and non judgmental space to navigate difficult times and work through your experiences and emotions. Through talking therapy, I can help you to make sense of things and understand yourself better. I can help you to resolve complicated feelings or find ways to cope with them. We can work together to help you to recognise any unhelpful patterns that you may have, in the way that you think or act, and find ways to change them, if you want to.

Speak in confidence

During our first meeting, we will talk about why you would like counselling and what you want to achieve from our work together. I will provide you with a safe, confidential space so you can begin to explore any issues that you would like to bring to therapy. I have a comfortable and confidential counselling room located near Luton and Hitchin. I also provide counselling online.
